Paul Greenberg is an entrepreneur, cheerleader of New Retail, and a top 50 online retail expert with over 35 years’ experience in retail, technology and entrepreneurship. He is also a registered psychologist with a keen interest in consumer psychology. Paul is highly regarded as the ‘pioneer of online retail in Australia’, having co-founded DealsDirect.com.au in 2004, which grew to become the single largest online retailer in Australia. After the business was sold to private equity, he went on to establish NORA, a leading not -for-profit retail association. As the founder and Executive Director of NORA, Paul is widely regarded as an industry expert known for his clarity of thought making him a much sought after speaker at industry events. He is passionate about uplifting the spirits of retailers nationwide and looks to provide a more holistic and optimistic approach to retail in Australia. Paul has had a successful and diverse career with a key focus on entrepreneurship and start-ups, mainly in retail and technology. His career includes directorships in commercial enterprises and charities, and investment in start-ups.
RETAIL INDUSTRY MARKET DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE, MICROSOFT
Marcy is responsible for leading platform agnostic cloud and mobile Focused Growth Strategies in the industries of Retail, Travel, Hospitality and Consumer Goods. She oversees retail industry strategies, marketing, solution development, partner development, thought leadership and customer relations, ensuring the full extent of Microsoft’s industry visions and value propositions are realised locally. Marcy brings almost 22 years of deep customer, vertical technology, sales and marketing experience to this role.
A beauty junkie and eCommerce veteran, Kate had her inspiration to start Australia’s first online beauty store in 1999 at the age of 21. Fifteen years later, adorebeauty.com.au attracts millions of visitors per year, stocks over 8,000 products, and recently announced an investment from retail giant Woolworths Limited. Kate was awarded the Business Innovation Award for Victoria at the Telstra Business Women’s Awards in 2014, and was inducted into the Australian Businesswomen’s Network Hall of Fame in 2015.
Nathan began in online retail back in 1999 moving from corporate eCommerce to private business where he built Tacklemania in 2004 from a small eBay store to a multi-million online business that expanded to a physical retail presence and then was sold in 2010.
Carly is an experienced manager and leader heading up eCommerce in organisations such as ASOS, RM Williams, and BUPA, as well as driving Digital Strategies for McArthurGlen Group and Tesco. Carly has a Masters in Marketing and Finance from the University of Western Australia as well as having studied at the Università di Bologna.
Peter is a finance trained business executive with 19 years experience in blue chip organisations covering FMCG and retail. Through this experience, combined with Accounting and MBA qualifications, Peter has developed a unique expertise in business transformation, operational efficiency, organisational change and large scale program delivery.
Andrew’s role is to implement Service Design thinking into Telstra’s culture, as well as design a customer experience strategy that delivers beautiful, simple and joyful customer experiences across all segments and channels. Andrew’s mantra is to enjoy agility and new thinking, and not tradition. He holds Bachelor degrees in Technology and Business Management from Swinburne University of Technology.
