Australia Post’s recommended last lodgement dates for business parcels for Christmas
In the lead up to the busiest time of year, Australia Post is sharing its recommended domestic and international parcel last lodgement dates to help them arrive in time for Christmas.
Christmas lodgement dates for most Australian states
Australia Post is recommending lodgement by the following dates for delivery within most states in Australia by Christmas (*excludes items sent to and from Perth and Darwin):
- Parcel Post: Tuesday 19 December**
- Express Post: Thursday 21 December
- StarTrack Premium and Express: Thursday 21 December

Christmas lodgement dates for sending overseas
You can find the recommended last lodgement dates for all of Australia Post’s international destinations listed on its website.
For both domestic and international destinations, items sent after these dates will be delivered as quickly as possible, but they may not arrive until after Christmas.
Australia Post has been planning for Peak all year, focusing on increasing its capacity and improving its services. From investing in its delivery infrastructure to providing better visibility of parcels through its network, Australia Post is confident it’s on track to deliver a successful eCommerce and peak season.
* Items sent to and from Perth and Darwin with Parcel Post need to be lodged by Friday 15 December to be delivered by Christmas. Items sent to and from Perth and Darwin with Express Post need to be lodged by Wednesday 20 December to be delivered by Christmas.
** For all items collected by one of Australia Post’s trucks or vans and taken directly to its processing facility. For parcel post items lodged over the counter, please send by Monday 18 December to allow additional sortation time at the Post Office.
