THURSDAY 5TH DECEMBER
11:00AM–11:45AM

The Single Sock Solution is a social responsibility initiative which  partners with charities and corporates in social impact by facilitating inclusive weaving workshops for people of all ages, abilities and cultures. People come together to connect and create art pieces using materials which would otherwise be headed for landfill.

Join NORA on this live webcast as we hear from Romy Wolman creator of the Single Sock Solution as she tells her story behind starting the initiative and touches on:

  • The Story behind the Single Sock Solution
  • What to do with reject / excess material heading for landfill
  • How to foster a culture of social responsibility and weave it into the fabric of your brand
  • How you as a retailer can help

The Story Behind Singe Sock Solution

Romy Wolman, creator of Single Sock Solution, says: "My 11yr old daughter has cerebral palsy. Born with no heartbeat, Milla was resuscitated back to life for 10 min. The prognosis was devastating — a child who was never meant to be able to walk or talk.

Since her birth, my daily mission and my duty have been to discover ways I can alleviate some of the challenges of living with a disability in a frenetic and quite disconnected world, and how to foster a framework for real inclusion in our community.

Weaving is therapy. It's cross-generational. It's cultural, and it's art. So when I witnessed what it meant to Milla when she could accomplish something independently and the validation it gave her, light bulbs lit up, and the "Single Sock Solution" was born.”

Single Sock Solution aims to practise fun, authentic inclusion and empower our communities. Weave + Breathe is about bridging the disconnect through real face-to-face connections.
