Gavin is an experienced investment and commercial professional with 14 years in private equity and 6 years in corporate advisory in the UK and Australia. His specialties include Private Equity, Corporate Advisory, Non Executive Director roles, and online retail & ecommerce.
WILLIAM SCOTT, ENTREPRENEUR AND STRATEGIC FOUNDER AND CHAIR OF AUSSIE FARMERS DIRECT (2005-2014)
William founded Aussie Farmers Direct group in 2005 and was chairman of the business for 8 years. The company, www.aussiefarmers.com.au has since grown to approximately 700 staff and 220 franchisees and has been awarded numerous awards including BRW Fastest growing Company and Franchises 2010-2012 and recently winning the award for ‘Best Customer Experience’ at the BRW AMPCSC Retailer of the Year 2012 awards.
William holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations from RMIT, and has a strong passion for food, international commerce, technology, sustainability and innovation across a number of industries. He has successfully lead numerous companies into a position of brand notoriety in their respective fields including the smart group, an award winning integrated marketing group consisting of over 10 blue chip clients.
DAVID WHITE, NATIONAL LEADER, RETAIL, WHOLESALE & DISTRIBUTION, DELOITTE
Partner and National Leader of Deloitte's Retail, Wholesale & Distribution Group, David represents the firm on retail issues and trends, and provides support and advice to retailers in helping them achieve their goals.
Previously based in London for 7 years, David has extensive knowledge of the UK and European retail markets. Through Deloitte’s extensive global retail network, David draws on the major trends in overseas markets to help bring best practice and new thinking to Australian based retail organisations.
David has worked with a wide variety of Australian and international retailers, including Woolworths, Speciality Fashion Group, Steinhoff, Zara, LVMH, Chanel, Prada and Fossil. He has written numerous articles on key global trends in the retail industry and is regularly asked to provide commentary on issues impacting the broader Australian retail market and continues to work with many retailers as they deal with the significant disruption impacting the industry both on a local and global basis.
David was also recently recognised as the 11th most influential person in the Australian and New Zealand online retail market by Demandware, an independent consulting practice.
PAUL GREENBERG, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NORA AND CO-FOUNDER, DEALS DIRECT
Paul Greenberg is an entrepreneur, cheerleader of New Retail, and a top 50 online retail expert with over thirty five years’ experience in retail, technology and entrepreneurship. He is also a registered psychologist with a keen interest in consumer psychology.
Paul is highly regarded as the ‘pioneer of online retail in Australia’, having co-founded DealsDirect.com.au in 2004, which grew to become the single largest online retailer in Australia. After the business was sold to private equity, he went on to establish NORA, a leading not -for-profit retail association.
As the founder and Executive Director of NORA, Paul is widely regarded as an industry expert known for his clarity of thought making him a much sought after speaker at industry events. He is passionate about uplifting the spirits of retailers nationwide and looks to provide a more holistic and optimistic approach to retail in Australia.
Paul has had a successful and diverse career with a key focus on entrepreneurship and start-ups, mainly in retail and technology. His career includes directorships in commercial enterprises and charities, and investment in start-ups.
